Organizational Consulting

For 20 years, Dr. Nadal has engaged in various types of trainings for groups and organizations. He utilizes an intersectional, holistic approach to equity and inclusion training and consulting that integrates his clinical training as a counseling psychologist and his empirical knowledge as a researcher and author. His approach is framed through a Critical Race Theory, Queer Theory, and Feminist/Womanist Theory lens. He believes in a multipronged approach to change – from disrupting discriminatory policies and norms to facilitating genuine, robust self-reflection. 

 

Campus or Workplace Climate Assessment

Dr. Nadal conducts climate assessments for various institutions such as college campuses, academic departments, non-profit organizations, and corporations. Evaluations can consist of various methods including surveys, focus groups, and interviewers with key constituents and stakeholders. Each evaluation would be accompanied with a comprehensive report, which integrates academic and empirical literature, while including practical recommendations and strategies. 

Multicultural Awareness and Competence Training:

Dr. Nadal provides training for organizations that are interested in providing opportunities for employees to discuss issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, social class, religion, and ability. Topics include microaggressions, implicit bias, intercultural communication, cultural competence, cultural humility, and interserctional identities. Activities may range from group discussions, experiential activities, and personal reflections.

Facilitation Training:

Dr. Nadal provides training for organizations that seek training for how to facilitate group discussions - particularly considering intercultural communication and engaging in difficult dialogues. Activities may include didactic activities about group processes, role plays, experiential activities, and group discussions.

Multicultural consultation for individual and groups:

Dr. Nadal provides consultation that seek specific consultation, advice, or education about multicultural issues. Topics may include: race or racial discrimination, LGBTQ issues, sexual harassment, racial trauma, workplace micro aggressions, Asian American or Filipino American issues, or general mental health issues for communities of color. Activities may include providing educational presentations, research, writing, and information disseminating, counseling, conflict mediation, and individual appointments.
